We climbed up to three thousand feet, the nose of the plane was pitched upwards. Red lights flashed indicating engine failure was eminent, and then my stomach sank as the plane began to fall.

He did it on purpose. It's a recovery technique required for obtaining your pilot's license and a skill no doubtfully he would need in case of a really emergency.
When the maneuver was complete, the instructor asked, "How did that feel?"
"That was great," the student replied. "Can we do it again?"
The instructor craned his neck to look into my face. "You ok with that mom?"
I gritted my teeth, faked a smile, and gave a thumbs up. My heart beating rapidly, I knew I was going to need two things when I get home; a stiff drink and blood pressure pills.
Once on the ground, my giddy son asks, "If I fly a jet, would you go?"
My mind said, "Shit no!" But my mouth said, "Where you go, I go."
